Divers First Aid, CPR, AED & Emergency O2

$300.00

This course provides divers and dive professionals with practical, scenario-based training in first aid, CPR, AED use, and emergency oxygen administration tailored to diving incidents. Participants learn to recognize and respond to common dive-related medical emergencies including cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, severe bleeding, shock, spinal injuries, and decompression illness. The curriculum covers scene safety, patient assessment (primary and secondary surveys), airway management, rescue breathing, adult and pediatric CPR techniques, automated external defibrillator operation, and effective use of emergency oxygen delivery systems and non-rebreather masks specific to diving care.

Hands-on practice emphasizes teamwork, timely decision-making, and integration of oxygen administration with CPR and AED protocols. The course also reviews accident prevention, emergency action planning for dive sites and boats, equipment considerations (oxygen cylinders, regulators, delivery devices), and post-incident procedures such as documentation and coordination with EMS and hyperbaric facilities. Upon completion, students are competent to provide immediate, lifesaving care that stabilizes patients until advanced medical help arrives, and they receive certification valid for the organization(s) specified by the course (check local provider for details).
