The Night & Limited Visibility Specialty trains divers to safely and confidently dive in low-light conditions, including night dives, murky water, and reduced-visibility environments. The course covers light-handling techniques, dive planning for limited visibility, navigation methods, and effective buddy communication using hand and light signals.
Divers learn how to manage disorientation, depth perception changes, and task loading, as well as proper use of primary and backup lights, marker lights, and surface signaling devices. Emphasis is placed on maintaining buoyancy control, situational awareness, and calm problem-solving when visual references are reduced.
Upon completion, divers are qualified to plan and conduct safe night and limited-visibility dives, expanding their comfort level and opening opportunities for new and unique underwater experiences.
